Santa Rosa County offers the PSAT/NMSQT to all 10th grade students at no cost. (11th graders can join the PSAT if they wish to try to earn a qualifying score for the National Merit Scholars program, cost is $18). This year we will test on October 13th.
The PSAT/NMSQT includes reading, writing and language and mathematics components that focus on the knowledge and skills that are most essential for college and career readiness and success; it is also used as a diagnostic tool to measure and follow student performance and pinpoint areas for development. The PSAT also allows students to receive a concordant score for the Algebra 1 EOC (End of Course).
Parents can allow their students to opt out of taking the test in October. If you would prefer your student, not to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT please see the accompanying email and return the form by August 25th. Forms can also be found in the Guidance Office.
